Model PC8500 is used for a 5 ply 2” x 8” laminated wood column and comes precast ready to install. The metal U bracket on top that receives the wood column is integrated into the Perma-Column® with rebar reinforcements. As part of the rebar assembly there is a precast hole in the bottom of the Perma-Column® which is used for uplift. Uplift can be achieved through rebar with concrete collar, uplift anchors or column extenders.
Perma-Column® are available in five, six and seven foot concrete lengths.
Perma-Column® U bracket pocket widths are available in Standard, OT and GL models.
Standard Model – Accommodates dimensional lumber and laminated columns which are typically nailed together with no additional machining.
OT Model – Accommodates some laminated wood columns which have been planed and are usually mechanically fastened and glued together.
GL Model – Accommodates most laminated wood columns which have been planed and glued.
